About

At Rehearse Recite Reuse, we are dedicated to building a more sustainable and eco-friendly dance community. We believe that the way we use and reuse our dancewear and costumes is an essential part of creating a sustainable future. We have created a platform to collect and donate used dance costumes, giving them a second life while helping to reduce the amount of waste created by the dance industry. In addition, we offer resources and advice on how to make the most of your dance wardrobe and how to buy responsibly.

"Sustainability is no longer about doing less harm, it's about doing more good"

Meet the founder, Sage Gottlieb.

"I am a junior in high school in California as well as a competitive dancer, and throughout my dance experience, I have been lucky enough that I have not had to worry about having the proper dance attire. As I have grown up, I have realized how much of a privilege this is, and that there are so many dancers that are in a different position than me. With this in mind, I also started to think about and question the sustainability of dance, especially dance costumes. At the beginning of the COVID lockdown, my dad and I were talking about this issue, does it really make sense to be paying so much for a costume, to wear it three, four, or maybe even just one time, and then have it just be thrown in the back of the closet or attic? This is when together we came up with the idea for Rehearse, Recite, Reuse. My hope is that through the donations of these costumes, not only will other dancers be able to experience the joys of dance, but also that the dance community can be aware of the impact that they have, and make their own efforts to make dancing more sustainable!!"  Sage Gottlieb
